Eye Certification

Just wandering where I can have my dogs eyes certified? Looking around the Milton/Mississauga/Hamilton/Guelph area. The U of G is undergoing renos to their x-ray equipment so they are doing evaluations on x-rays but nothing else at the moment.

Call the ckc or check their website, they should be able to direct you to a breed club etc. that is hosting an eye clinic in your area.

Another resource is the ACVO website. It lists certified veterinary opthamologists by region. It would give you the name, location and phone contact for the few in southern Ontario. Melanie Williams might be the closest for you.

Since we are on the topics of eye testing Sue West Williams lives about 2 kms away from us and she has done eye clinics at the farm for us . If we had enough people interested we could have one here. Some clubs have them but we do not add on any extra fees as a fund raiser like they do . It would probably be a Saturday morning or a Sunday morning.If your in our area ,let us know.

That's Dr. Wolfer (no joke - that's his name). The Islington clinic ONLY does eyes - they aren't a regular vet. Dr. Wolfer is fantastic. When I lived in Toronto that's where I went to get all my dogs cleared. Its where I'd go if I found I had an eye problem too.

I live in Ottawa now so I've been to Dr. Tinsley at Alta Vista - also excellent.
