Just wondering how many people travel down to the States for these tests, and any good or bad experiences you've had. This is something I might look at doing next year.

Couldn't agree with J/C more. I've bored around down there too and have not complaints. Enjoyed them all. Pinning my ears back this year due to price of gas. If you go just make sure you have your vet certificate proving your dog has rabies shots and you're all set. Enjoy.

Thanks. It seems like it might be a good way to incorporate the tests into a vacation. We've always wanted to do alligator gar in Texas and tiger muskies in Utah... just so happens that there are clubs in those states too. What a coinkidink! :spoton:

Just got back from Virginia and I will be finishing all my dogs in the states they still understand what the HRC was started for by the hunter for the hunter unlike 90% of the tests in Canada where the majority of the Judges are out to see how they can trick the dogs. The Judgeing pool in Canada is to small so you run under the same guy's all the time and the clubs can't weed out the bad judges. I know Kevin is going to have something to say about this but I callem like I see them. I am heading down to OHIO in a couple weeks and I'll let you know how it goes.

I travel down into region 2 every year to visit friends and run tests. I have attended the Lake Champlain HRC test every year since their prelim. and have also attended tests with Granite State HRC as well as Saco River HRC.
All are great clubs and really nice people, have always had a blast and love traveling through the Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine areas.

All depends on who you are talking about Chris, I am hoping it was not refering to me. Don't think I have ever judged any of your dogs, just stood around the trucks talking about judging many times with ya.

No Kev your not on my don't run under list. the people down south last weekend were great. and the test were very fair good bird placement and great calls by the judges it was very refreshing to see. HRC is a great organisation and is a ton of fun to run your dogs in.

Where in Virginia? I've been down to the Tidewater one the last 3 years, but didn't venture down this year. It's called James River now I believe. Ray and Cindy Casella run the show.

Hey guys,

I have run several UKC/HRC tests in the USA. I have run tests in Michigan (Michigan HRC), South Carolina (Midlands HRC), Wisconsin (Fox River Valley HRC), and Kentucky (Central Kentucky HRA).

All were a blast and each one a bit different. I definitely had a lot of fun and met some new friends.

I am thinking of going back to Wisconsin again this year.
