I'm assuming it's going to be held at Luther? Too far for me that day  Have boarders getting picked up at some point, otherwise I may have been crazy enough to make the drive. :P

Woo hoo! I will do my best to be there with Silas, maybe Switch! Dillon is off to Pelee soon with friends, so I don't have him.
Silas demonstrated at the MV picnic trial that he has "stage fright". He works beautifully in our small training sessions but was completely useless in a test situation. So the more I can get him out the better!

I'd like to come out to this one.

Can I get some more details on it?

Question.. does it start at 9am or is that when we register? I'm assuming Powell Pavilion?

My boarding clients wanted to pick their dogs up at 10:30am Sunday :thmdn:

After much crying :cry_1: negotiating :strangle: and idle threats to shave their two Chow Chows :yikes: I'm able to come on Sunday! :bf_new:

So I'll be bringing one Toller with stage fright and another green Toller. :pukey:

Hi Greg - we will be holding this day at Valens Conservation Area - exact location can be found on the Hamilton Conservation Authority webpage. It is generally on old highway 97 (now Regional Road 97??). If you do not have a HCA seasons pass, you will have to pay the gate fee of $8. Most people that come out to these days will purchase the pass as it is good in all the parks, including Christie Lake (where the MVRTC holds their picnic trial). LMHRC and Horseshoe both hold their days at Valens - so potentially you could use the pass 3 times per month.

We usually try and start around 9am and get everyone through by 12noon to 1pm time frame. Cost to run your dog is only $5. A light lunch will be served at an additional cost (approx $5).

LMHRC is a UKC/HRC retriever club, so we really try and simulate hunting situations in our hunt test set-ups. A REAL gun is used with blanks (primer poppers). If you feel uncomfortable with this, we do have members that can assist in this area - or you can participate without using the gun (no problem).

We usually run one multi-purpose set-up and change the distance, order, etc. of the marks/blind depending on the level of the dog. If there are enough "started" and "seasoned" dogs, we will set up a separate test for them.

I hope this helps answer your questions.

Yes - it is at the Powell Pavillion - we usually try and start at 9am so registration is open a bit earlier (8:30am??) However sometimes things are a bit slower moving - especially with everyone chit-chatting before the start.

There is no rush, if you think you may be late. We usually have someone watching the Pavillion and looking after registration for most of the morning.
