Harder and harder to find a national field trial champion stud dog to breed to on either side of the boarder as the females keep kicking butt!

Congratulations to NFC Candlewood's Something Royal.

Sorry I was wrong just got off the phone with Mary Howley and she is just pumped that this is her 10th NFC. Windy is Prize and Candlewoods Homely Hannah and litter mate to Yada that Mike Lardy went to the 8th with. My female that is at Mary's is also out of Lean Mac and Homely Hanna. That is 7FC's and now a NFC out of Hannah. Terry

Way to go Ken and Windy -- 2 National Ch.s in one year with 2 different dogs -- and 10th Candlewoods NFC to boot -- congrats to all!!!!

I have had the pleasure to judge Ken and Windy last year when they got their first Open Win and she is the real deal, Nellie is no slouch either she took third in the same trial. I also had the pleasure to judge the Marshals dog Davey handled by Eric Babin who also won an open this past spring under me. It is good to see new dogs in the lime light.

I have followed the videos off the AKC website and have to say that it was a great bunch of tests! They were not easy, but at the end of the day you want to find a national champion and that's what they did, and the dog that earned it was very deserving. This past week had many quads and a good combo of monster marking set-ups with some shorter ones also. Blinds were challeging and many dogs took themselves out due to cast refusals or just plain too much factor for them to handle. Hopefully some day I'll be previllaged enough to have a dog qualified to run a CDN national FT:icon1_lol:

Agree with Glynn -- nice to see some new faces -- as an aside it's nice to note that another Canadian bred dog finished in #35 Davey -- and like Misty Marsh I'm amazed at what the dogs had to do to finish this National -- certainly Windy is more than deserving -- and like Trent I hope to be able to experience a National for myself (either side of the border) with my own dog
