I have had a SportDOG SD-2400 for about 3 years now. The transmitter got soaked last hunting season and sportdog is sending out a replacement. During that time I picked up a Tri-tronics Pro 200 G2 EXP. I have 2 dogs. So the question is would you keep the Sportdog so that you always have a backup collar or would you sell the sportdog and get another collar for the Tri-tronics.
Thanks,
Mike
TT all the way!!!! But you knew that already. Taking for granted you are suggesting carrying two different transmitters for 2 collars for 2 dogs as opposed to one TT transmitter for 2 TT collars......right? And anyways you already have the TT sticker on your truck:)

I am far from an expert but IMHO I think I would sell the sportdog and buy yourself an TT collar..... after all you do have the EXP function :spoton:

Thats right. My thinking was that if I keep the Sportdog, I will have a backup system in case anything ever happens with my TT transmitter.

Probally not a bad ideal to keep the spare if you can afford to have them both.

Depends it the Sport Dog has rechargeable batteries! If you do not use it frequently the batteries will go dead. Chance are that if the TT died for some reason you could get along with out it for the time the TT was being repaired.

Mike,
I have a 500 G 2- 2 collar which I should of gone to before but since transmitters were not waterproof-was always reserved about TT.My back up is a Dogtra 2000 which has been an outstanding/dependable collar in fact I lost the transmitter a year ago -submerged for approx. 6 hours in 3 feet of water-did find it and it still works today-a lot can be said about Dogtra products!
