I REMEMBER LAST YEAR I WAS OUT ON DEC 16 AND FISHING THE WEEKEND AFTER. THE BIRDS ARE STILL FLYING BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO LAUNCH A BOAT ANYWERE AROUND MY PLACE. I QUESS THE ONLY PLACE LEFT WILL BE THE ST LAWRENCE. SO THE NEXT THING TO KEEP THE DOG AND I OUT OF TROUBLE WILL BE ICE FISHING. ALL AND ALL I HAVE HAD A GOOD SEASON, IT WILL BE BETTER NEXT YEAR WHEN MY DOG WILL BE OLD ENOUGH TO GO OUT, NO MORE RETRIEVES WITH THE BOAT:clap2:

Last year, just outside of Parry Sound, I remember seeing two young fellas in a 12ft aluminum fishing in the drizzle on New Years Day...as of today, small water has tightened up but big water is still open.

Can't be that cold yet, I got a woodcock while grouse hunting this morning. :clap2: It did surprise me to see it though. The dog had a great point on the bird, standing in water while he pointed.

I guess Hullet would be frozen as well, anyone know for sure. I'd like to go there this weekend if it's not frozen.

No ice in the Bay of Quinte, some in the end of West Lake at Wellington, the water level is low in the area. Not sure of Wellers Bay I didn't drive that way home and it was dark on the way in last night, but I may be able to get more info on that. There was a south easterly breeze today, that may keep things open. Saw buffleheads and blacks as well where I was grouse hunting.

Guns are away for the season. We were planning a hunt tomorrow but its a no go do to freeze up. Last year we were out hunting on the last day of the season. Snow, freezing rain, hard winds, white caps on the lake, great sunrise and sunset and oh yeah we ran out of gas...good times though....

heimedw, Today (Dec 4th) we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground, I think it wont stay and one more hunt will happen for me!
Frank, you romamtic you""" are you confusing honey-moons with duck hunting. See" the name of the game when duck hunting is to get some, hopfully your limit is nice. When I want sunrises, sunsets, and good company, hopfully Im with my wife and not some hairy dude with love in his eyes. When I duck hunt the sunrises and sunsets, have ducks in the background, thats what its about. And what a sight it is. :bleh: :harhar: :stirpot:
