Great pictures, I have friends that have hunted Alberta. One goes back to Saskatchewan every year, he used to guide there. He is off to Arizona in the January for a month, rough life.

Hey scott how did you find the hun population this year? I noticed alot more birds. I was finding areas with 300+ birds on a quarter section.

I haven't hunted a Hutterite garden in 20 years.

But yes, the Hun pops were up to the point where a good quarter would yield us 3 or 4 coveys of 6 to 12 birds and the Sharptail pops were down - way down.

I couldnt find any this year either. My friend took a trip down to Manyberries before the pheasant opener and said there were tons but getting access was hard. He only went for a few hours one day so I am sure there are some to be had.

Some pictures of SharpTail's Dangerous Dakota one of Dixie's pups from this past spring and some of his first hunts this fall with Addison who is now 15.
This is Addisons' and his dad first pointing dog and they are having a lot of fun with Dakota.

Here are some pictures of my trip to Saskatchewan with our Vizsla Dawson and my buddy's Brittany Buster. The highlight of this trip for me was seeing a moose in the non typical moose terrain!

Here is a picture of my Lab Lupo and our Vizsla Dawson together. My lab passed away this march and I miss him alot. He was a pleasure to hunt upland birds with and I will never forget him.

Wow I'm jealous of you guys out west, being able to hunt huns and wild ringnecks. Guess the grass in always greener:greenwithenvy:

Hey be2man,

I'm jealous too. :greenwithenvy:

Although I can hunt wild phez and grouse out here, I definitely can't sit on my front step with my gun and dead birds . :laugh: :laugh:

You must have some great neighbours.

BTW Be2man;

Is that a Pudelpointer? That is one good lookin' pup. :spoton:

be2man
12-15-2007, 10:24 AM
Yeah, there are still some "redneck refuges" in small town Ontario, away from the gun paranoia and political correctness of the GTA:doh:
Yes he's a Pudelpointer. I don't know if it's a breed characteristic, but he's very photogenic. He always seems to get a leg in front of his "pencil" for pics to keep them suitable for family viewing:spoton:
