Just thought I would put in a plug for the Calgary Pointing Dog Club who is hosting two Rick Smith Seminars this coming summer - a started and an advanced. Excellent opportunity.

I'm hoping to go if there is one in Mt Brydges this year. I was all set to go last year, then the wife goes and has a baby that weekend. Now that we have a 4 month old there is no chance I will run intot he same problem next year :cheesy:

We are set for the Rick Smith seminar Aug 8th, 9th and 10th, but we are not sure if it will be the foundation or intermediate. We already have enough interest to hold another intermediate seminar and have to see what Ricks scheduale is like. If I can make a business trip to Calgary I may try to attend one of the seminars out there. How many are interested in the foundation seminar this year in case we do both again. Good luck Calgary as the are a great learning seminar with so much information on dog training.

I'm not saying never. I'm just saying with the baby around and an older son, we've been run off our feet and I've done the math and I'm in the clear this year for the start of August. ;-)

It certainly was poor planning!! And I tried everything. Looked at hospitals in the area and driving distances from the field and my aunts place nearby. Asked Ed about the cell reception in his fields. I desperately wanted to find a way to make it happen, but in the end we stayed home, and it was for the best. She spent the whole weekend that the seminar was taking place running back and forth to the hospital and the baby came on the 6th.
So this year I used my bean and spent most of November deer hunting. So I should be good to go if there is a foundations seminar this year.
