I saw on another forum a question regarding using laser lights for training lining.
I know nothing about it but thought it seems a great idea for teaching accurate quartering. After all once the dog does go to the light you could easily (famous last words) form a quartering pattern with your dog.

Just wondered if any of you uplanders or retriever trainers had used laser lights in training?

thanks,
warren

I've never heard of that. I would just assume start with a check cord and work it from there. I don't think I'd want my dog looking for a red dot on the ground. I'd rather have him concentrating on finding birds with his nose.

My .02 cents.

I am not a pro at this yet but I don't think you want a mechanical quartering pattern. pPinQC got it right. I don't want my dog looking for a red dot. It is a visual stimulus and we want scent to be the motivator.
