Just thought I would start a new thread to get some converstion started...actually there is plenty of conversation on the board. I just wanted to see what everyones experiences have been with recieving a new puppy. I will be picking up my new pup from the airport on Sunday and have been waiting for this dog since October when I put my $ down. I don't know if it is just me but I am pumped up about receiving this little guy. With my last dog (which was my first) I can't recall being anywhere near this excited. Maybe it is due to how new I am in the game. Does everyone else get this excited when tey have a new pup on the way?

Aw you poor guy!!! What an awful thing to have to experience. Just tell me what airport and what time the little guy is arriving and I'll pick up the puppy for you and bring it back here to live. No need for you to have that awful feeling floating around you all the time..... I'll accept full responsibility and enjoy that wonderful feeling for you.

congrats on the new puppy.

:cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:Kiss good by to the first couple of nights sleep. I have just finished my 8th. night with my 7week old pup the first two nights where the worst. There is nothing like a pup at 4am. rooo, rooo, roooing to you just to let you know he is still there. Now it is all down hill the little guy comes running to me, happy to be with me. Every new pup is exciting to get it always gets me pumped up, so many thing to do with him, just think of all the money you had sitting around and now you got something to spend it on :spoton: Angle breath and ankle biters all rolled up in one "Enjoy the journey" i,am so far and it is a must to post puppy pictures :dog: :dog: :dog:

I must have got lucky with my pup, because from day one....he would sleep like a baby all night long. Nothing would wake that guy up!!

Just remember, mad mallard, getting up in the night with the pup is not your responsibility.
It's Jamies'. :worms:

You wouldn't be able to hear his 'rooo roooing' so clearly if you weren't sharing a bed.

OUr new puppy arrived Dec. 8 and we were just as anxious as you. As for the roo, roo rooing in the middle of the night, count yourself lucky if that's your experience. Our little guy goes to the door, looks up and utters a tiny little whimper. If we're not close by we miss the signal. Thankfully he is down to only one midnight foray now.

Are the girls easier to train than the boys, as with human babies sometimes? Our first girl slept through her first night and every one thereafter. Or wait, is it maybe she was a spring puppy and this wee fellow has to contend with two feet of snow and, recently, -20C?
