Just noticed my post on the other site was edited and a fellow was nice enough to PM me that I was promoting this site. when I referanced the retriever Knowledge that is available here to a new member of this board who was looking for some insite to help train his new pup. It's ashame really, that place used to be a good place to be, lots of activity and a ton of knowledge to draw from. I just don't understand why the hell they would do that when in reality you were just helping a guy out. He asked for advice on how to train his lab and you pointed him here, where many lab guys hang out.

I think I will leave it at that before my true feelings come out......

I think all sites should encourage members to go where their need can best be served.

I have no issues with this at all. If someone will get a better responce somewhere else I have no problem sending them to a site that will help them out.

I can't speak of the other sites but I can speak about this one, there is no profit here, only losses.

and then they wonder why people are leaving. they use to post a question and you would get 10 answer some good, some bad, some stupid, but at least there was activity and in most case it was entertaining. i think over the last year the site has died little activity. i use to visit frequently and know only if i have time to kill.

Hey Waterfowler,

While I think it is funny I think you should probably remove it from the other forum, maybe a bit too much don't you think? You probably will not have time though before they ban you from the site.
Some of us may not like the admin policys of the board but should at least respect the forum and not attack them in there own house so to speak.

If this is a corporate site why is the mention of site(s) where there is financial gain to be made by said site(s) allowed along with the name of another magazine? Yet if someone asks a question which could be answered by knowledgable people on another non-profit site and are directed there the post is edited. :censored: That is hypocritical and "pathetic".

I agree and a lot of us didn't agree with the way the board has been handled and it got us where we are today. It appears from the outside to people that they are censoring the content of the board to only include the stuff they want to and remove the links and info about things they don't like. If it is simply corporate policys about promoting other sites or breeders or whatever then why do they leave up post refering to other magazines that may be precieved as a competitor of Ontario out of Doors for magazine sales. The puppy sale policy went into effect after complaints from the breeders who are paid advertisers about people posting ads on the forum. This led to or was the start of the problems which led to many of us leaving willingly or not. Since then I have seen posts left up after the puppy sale policy went into place about guiding services and yet HO has paid advertisers that offer guiding service and the public post was left up.
This is the type of moderating that leads people to believe they are simply censoring the content of the board to fit into what they want.

I think this is the biggest issue people have with them ( but there are other issues as well) and Kevin hit the nail on the head with that.

well guy's I think we have beaten this horse to death and it is time to put this subject to rest. I will not be visiting there again and if we keep bringing it back up again and again like a bad burp we are no better than the other site so lets move on and get to training these dogs.
