One thing that seldom gets discussed but is a very important part of your equipment is a dog training bag. Since we have alot of newbie's starting out you should put one of these together. Here's what's in ours:

* Small first aid kit. Got it at the drug store for <$20. Fixes up bumps and bruises for you and your dog. Maybe some extra Tylenol for the "tough days". Also, put a business card from your vet in it with emergency phone # in case you need them in a hurry.
* EMT gel. A really good ointment like gel for fixing up nicks and cuts on your dog. Heard and seen some really amazing things this stuff has done. Saved dogs lives, literally. Works great. Got mine at a Bass Pro someplace.
* Synthetic shamee. Get them at Canadian Tire. Great for wiping down your dog after water work. Sucks up a ton of water, wringe it out, and you're good to go some more. Beats messing with regular towels.
* Antibacterial hand cleaner. Get the waterless kind that evaporates. Handle some nasty, experienced ducks and you'll know why.
* Sun screen and bug spray. Self explanatory.
* Spare whistle. Maybe an extra duck call.
* Snacks for you and dog. We like granola bars and jerky.
* Kleenex and/or toilet paper. Self explantory again.
* Small regular towel.
* In and out...sometimes a camera.

Put it all in an appropriate travel bag and you're good to go. We carry this pretty well everywhere we go with the dogs, be it a hunt test, group training, or just out by ourselves. Hope this helps some of you.

I like what AD18 has for the most part, I would add the below bandage to the first aid kit as these are the best thing out there. No tape required, add a pad of gauze and wrap and tear and you are done. I know Dan at ValleyDogs has them.
True-Flex Elastic bandage that sticks to itself.
Use as support wrap, tail wrap, or to protect an injured area.
Can be cut or torn, no scissors required.
Measures 4" X 5 Yards.
Available in White or Blue
I also carry some Adams flea and tick spray. I spray on when running in heavily invested areas as an addition to the revolution as it keeps the critters from attaching to the dog at all.

That is excellent advice, I especially love the thing about the chamois. I hate toweling him off if he's soaked, it usually takes a couple of towels before he's even semi-dry. I would have never thought of using one, luckily I have one lying around somewhere, just have to find it now!
