18 week old pup

In your opinion, at what level should a Black Lab this old be at by now?

My dog's name is Bear. He comes with "here" (one word commands), I'm trying to get him to heel to my left side (which he does about 50-75% of the time), he will sit when told, and he will stay. I usually say stay once and walk away, he will hold till I call him, which I'm up to about 15 feet now.

Is this where I should be at, if not, could someone point me in the right direction.

By the sounds of it you are on the right track. You might want to look into a training DVD as that will really help you along the way. There are several good one's out there that focus on Waterfowl Hunting dogs....

Sounds like he is doing fine, don't forget about the fun retrieves and play time. They are only small for a short time, have fun with him. There is LOTS of time for serious training, make everything fun for him and you.
