I've been out of trials a since the mid 80's so I was wondering what the major differences are in Junior stakes today compared to then?

Are the tests signifantly longer or are they just more technical, with a tighter marks etc? I haven't been to a trial in 20 years so I was just wondering what has changed. I'm hoping to catch a few trials this spring.

Also wondering if and trials still run sanctioned puppy tests?

The Junior marks certainly seem longer and even tighter than 20 years ago -- as all FT stakes seem to be. I believe that is because of the higher level of training most Junior dogs now go through. There are some Puppy stakes but not every FT as before -- Long Point FT for sure and believe that this year might also have Puppy stakes at Montreal FT in Maxville and York in Orangeville (not certain on those last two) -- but I believe we need such Puppy stakes to get "new blood" involved in our sport. But that's for another thread!!!!!
