Another field trial question for discussion. How does your club select your judges for their field trial? How do you come up with your pairings? How do you select new judges? Do you try to bring in judges? When do you ask? What are your thoughts on this subject? Is it important or is it lets get whoever we can at the lowest cost?

Thats a good question Peter. I can say from experiance you better be looking for your judges at least a year in advance as there are fewer who are willing to Judge nowadays.
As for how I have been doing this for the past 2 years for MVRTC as it is getting harder to get members interested in the who process of puting on a trial. I like to pick judges who I feel will put on a FAIR test and will take the time to judge all the dogs fairly and don't look for the easy pencilling them out.
I also look at past numbers under these judges to see if they will draw the competitors and give us good numbers so we can keep the club in the black.
I don't realy look at where they are coming from as all the judges that I have delt with have been more than fair to the club concerning expences.
So basically I keep an eye out all year while running the dogs and see who would I as a competitor would like to run under and who is realy there to judge the dogs. So far It has panned out and I feel we have a great judging pannel for this years trial but you will have to wait to see untill I get the ok back from the CKC.
