Truray4 -- Good job -- :spoton:
Very nice. I love the late season shoots. What are some of the details -- temps - freeze your buns off ?, how long were you out, did they come in fast or slow and low, small groups, any bands or unique birds?
I got these Dec 23rd - last day of our season. minus 25, everything that came in was singles or pairs -- finished in 15 minutes but waited 2 hours for them to start flying.

This bird had lots of white spots on his wings and back with a white ring on the neck that went up about 2 inches on the one side.

Monday the weather was actually pretty nice sunny in the morning but gradually clouded over by noon and just below freezing so we were quite comfortable in our lay out blinds.
We were hunting in the Durham region and saw tons of birds but they were all heading into a bean field that was about 1/2 mile from where we were hunting. Most of our shooting seem to come in spurts every hour or so. We got a few birds around 9 AM and then had a few come in right around 10 but we got the majority of birds between 11 and 12. We stuck it out to 1.30 trying to fill the last bird we needed for our limit.
We had to workd hard on the calls trying to pull the birds headed to the bean field and we managed to pull enough away to keep it interesting all morning mostly small groups of 2- 6 birds. Biggest problem was trying to get them to commit to the decoys, a lot of birds would come in but would just skirt the decoys. The birds had been hunted in the same general area on Friday and Saturday so they were pretty wary and I don't think they were buying our shell decoys.
Can't complain with 23 birds between 3 of us, but I can hardly wait for September to roll around.

Sounds like you really had to work for them. Good job on calling them over from where they wanted to go.
