Picked up my "Uplander" from Zingerman tonight, thanks Rob. Got it together, though I must say I haven't had a workout in years like I did tonight getting the springs in place. The release is on the charger and I tested the Duck Call on it and Abbie went berzerk!!! All over the house whining and crying...She's going to love this thing. Also picked up a new whistle and lanyard.

Now lets get down to trainin'...

You will like it, they work very well for a lot of different setups.

Yeah, Rob sold a few of those tonight. I picked up two, and I believe Frank picked up two as well. The springs are much tighter than my older uplander.

Yeah I picked up far more stuff than I should have at the show...

I'll snap some pics and put em up ;)

Are you kidding me! I haven't stopped obsessing about my new toys! lol

Piper already associated the launcher with bumpers! lol, I don't have to carry a bumper anymore to get her excited, I can just haul the launcher around LOL

I've done about 10 launches and retrieves with it so far, and am very happy... I would be much more excited if this snow would not have come back and I could do some work somewhere other than the driveway... Good thing I have a BIG driveway lol

Hope to use the uplander this week when the snow and cold and ice go away...I wonder if the cat will fit in it...:bigrin

I got one day of force to the pile done, and then the snow and cold hit... It'd be impossible to hold the ecollar, and whip, and cast with gloves... waiting...

If it does video tape it for me, I could use a good laugh:bigrin :bigrin

Oh man, Abbie loves this thing...The first couple of setups she broke. Told her "NO!" and put her in the truck. She finally clued in. By the last set up I didn't have to hold her and I could walk around and play with the kids, she didn't budge or make a sound. I finally released her and put her in the truck on the return to end on a high.

Can't wait until tomorrow...:bigrin

Hey Guys, Just wanted to thank everyone for dropping by the zinger booth at the Sportsman Show. It was good to put some faces to names. Frank, glad you like the Uplander. I should have told you to use a set of visegrips to twist the springs onto the frame (saves the hands). Anyways we'll be seeing you later. Train Hard.

Drew, I like the new forum format.

How long did you leave her in the truck ?

I've heard of this and have to try it when Cash goes wayward with the dummy.

[QUOTE=Chesapeake;556]How long did you leave her in the truck ?

Only a minute or two. I would walk around, fiddle with the dummies or dokkens, teasing her. When I let her out of the truck I would go through the set up and if she didn't listen, back in the truck. She caught on.

I also will throw short marks maybe twenty feet, and pick them up myself, and only let her get a couple. This really helped steady her up (when its just us). In a larger group with distractions its a differant story.

Wanted to thank Zingerman for being down at Sportsmen Show -- picked up whistles -- looked at new wingers and e-collars -- checked out the new crates (really like those) -- by the way who ever won the draw????

what is a uplander

It's a box style launcher, spring operated. You can get a remote release for it with a duck call built in and you can also use 209 primers to give of a little attention getting bang. It can throw dummies, dokkens, upwards of 25 yards. If you were at the sportsman show and watched the golden whistle, they were using them to throw the dummies for the dogs. Check out www.zingerwinger.com to get a good look at one.
