Hey Guys,
I was driving back from TO on Thursday with a buddy and we got passed by a SUV that had it's back window covered with a dog head and HRCH Anne I think... It was a huge sticker, looked really sharp! Wondering who that may have been, they got off at Brighton I think...
I can't imagine there are too many Black SUV's with a Car Wrap on the back window...
Let me know!

That is a rumor that I really wish was true, we would have a lot more equipment if that was the case.

Not me:fencing: Don't know anyone in this area that has a black SUV with an HRCH dog. Even without the black SUV, don't know anyone in the Brighton area with a HRCH dog.

Still trying to decide between HRC and CKC, about the same number of events in my area.

Well if your'e a hunter I would recomend HRC, at the lowere levels the HRC game is more serious about the game than the CKC and there's no poodles there either hahahahahahah....

Baby steps... lol... The problem I have is there is no training group near me. The Ottawa Valley club is 1:45 from my place, which is just too far.
I train with a guy in Maxville who did Field Trails, but never Hunt Tests, so I mean piper is coming along, but not to his Field Trail expectations...
I don't know if I'll get Piper beyond Senior or Seasoned, so I don't know if the flavor of the sport really matters, just getting some handling time in.

Frank,
Do you train at Ambertrail? We train there 2-3 times a week. Our training group is pretty full but we're hoping to get some larger groups together throughout the summer to do more test like simulations so I'd be happy to let you know when those are happening. We also might have room in our group on some Sundays if that's of interest. My husband and I mostly train alone during the week and we're out past Winchester.
Our group does mainly CKC HTs.
Also, think about coming to the Carol Cassity workshop on June 30-July 2 at Maxville. Observer spots are only $75 - a steal!! I know Piper isn't at that level but you'll still learn a ton.

Hey Pam,
Actually I train two houses away from there... You have the Ducross, and the the Steeles who have Flat Coats, and then Tom Glen on the corner who is a golden boy as well. I train at Tom's with his help.
I trained with a friend in Osgoode all last summer, and I'd be interested in the Sunday training group...
I had mentioned on the old board that I wanted to go to the seminar, just waiting to see what the dates look like.
Can you pm me your phone number, and we could talk on the phone...

I have found that most GOOD shoters go the H R C route when funds are a facter in dog games but getting out and playing is the most inportian thing for u and your dog that beening said u can put on your camo or your and go to the skeet club :nice work:

Frank stick with Tom he won't steer you wrong. and by the time your dog is ready for qual a couple weeks of hunt test marks and you will easily be ready for master. How old is your dog now?
The feild trial guys are pretty hard core so if your dog is not as far along as he would like to see don't get discouraged to be competative in the field trial world you need to train 6 days a week and also know what your doing it is a hard game to learn on but when you do man oh man it is better than winning the lottery when you get you first coulored ribon. Keep at it!!

Chris,
Thanks for the encouragement... Training with Tom is great, we have a great time... Going over there tonight to "fix" pipers slow sits... When I blow the whistle she won't sit right away, if she's standing she'll do it slowly, if she's moving she'll take a couple steps and then slowly sit, and all this while being burned...
The reason I'm looking for other places, and people to train with is that Tom is helping me get the basics done, but in the meantime I'm not running very many marks... Now that the nice weather is here, I'll get more in, but for the most part it's tough to run many marks when you're alone. Even if I had someone to reload the uplanders, I'd be much further ahead...
