Here's my prediction for how the Eastern Conference will end up. It's awesome that even at the end of March, so much is still up for Grabs. In anycase, here's how I see it coming down:

1. Pittsburgh
2. Montreal
3. Washington (currently not even in the top 8!!)
4. New Jersey
5. Ottawa
6. New York Rangers
7. Boston
8. Philadelphia

Note - 9th will be Carolina who is currently in 3rd.

My prediction is that your prediction is totally wrong! The only thing that I know for sure is that the Leafs will miss the playoffs!:rip:
Carolina is in and you can take that to the bank.

You may be right, although for Carolina to be in, they are going to have to beat out the Flyers and/or Boston for one of the 7th or 8th spots. With the momentum that the Capitals have right now and their opponents for the rest of the season, I think they'll take over 1st place in their division.

I think Carolina's destiny comes down to how well Boston and Philly play. Both of them are playing well, but both of them have tough schedules. I just love the fact that a team could potentially go from 3rd to 9th in a couple weeks at this point in the season.

I'm not a leafs fan, but I must say the decision that Mats Sundin made to stay in Toronto was one of the best moves by any player I've seen in a long time.

YOU MEAN TO SAY THAT TORONTO IS NOT GOING TO WIN THE STANLEY CUP AGAIN THIS YEAR !!!!! (only joking of course -- but now we know why there are so many golf courses around Toronto)

Hey - don't you know that is why they put the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto!!

It is the only way Leaf fans will be able to see the Stanley Cup!!! (LOL):cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Even after the beating they took this weekend?
My Habs loving friend had me over this weekend for pizza & beer on him,
It was as good as I've ever had!

well they have a few hurt players that will be back once the real games start.
It must suck for you Ontario boys...
You got one team that can't make the playoffs and another that always chokes....heartbreaking.....lol

I'm not sure the habs have what it will take to win from whoever takes the west. They're fast and play well together, but are small. I'm not sure they will be the same team once they get into a real physical contest assuming they make it past the east.

Big night tonight. If Carolina wins, they lock up their division and will likely keep the capitals from making the playoffs.

I hope everyone kept their money in the bank and didn't take my Carolina prediction.
What is happening to our Canadian teams? Seems like for all the media attention we give them, they aren't worth a can of beans - other than Montreal.
Gainey is proving to be as good a general manager as he was player. Look for them to have some outstanding years under his leadership. And Carbanau (someone correct my spelling) is also proving to be a good coach.
Perhaps Toronto and Vancouver should look at getting some hockey knowledge on board!
