Last night I had Mac on the crate teaching him to WHOA. He stayed for about 5 mins when I released him. I am still giving him treats every 30 secs that he stays there...but that is an improvement as it used to be every 15 secs. He only moved his feet twice during that 5 mins. Slow but steady wins the race. I am so excited. I have only been working on this seriously for a week. Another cool thing he is doing is dropping his ball in my hand when I throw it and have him retrieve. This is cool because up till now he would always want to play tug-o-war. My wife and I have ignored him when tries this as we figured this was bad behaviour anyway. It seems to be paying off. I know that this is still only in the house...outside will be another challenge, but progress is progress.
