Hello everyone,
Just wanted to post a reminder that the Luther Marsh Hunting Retriever Club will be holding our final Training Day on Sunday, April 20.
This last date is usually a popular event (depending on weather) as the Hunt Test season is just around the corner. Depending on the number of dogs, we plan to have "full blown" Land Tests in Started, Seasoned, and Finished for everyone to run.
Although this is not a UKC sanctioned Hunt Test - we are trying to get judges in each category to evaluate performance and mark the judges sheet so that handlers can use it later as a reference. Dog/Handler teams will be awarded a Pass/Fail based on the performance. (We are still working on getting judges - so stayed tuned.)
Dogs/Handlers running without the use of training aids (e-collars, heeling sticks, etc.) that achieve a "Pass" will be given a ribbon (no points).
It will be held at Valens Conservation Area and registration will be in the Powell Pavillion starting at 8:30am. We hope to start running dogs at 9:00am sharp!!
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. Thanks.
Randy
