I have to say that I cannot remember ever having so much fun at the same time as being nervous. A few months ago, I was invited down to run some HRC hunt tests with my two dogs by Kevin Hannah and I jumped at the opportunity. I got to hang out with the best group of people EVER. As you know I don't have access to good training land or good training water and I have absolutely no dog people to hang out with either, so gathering up good training knowledge for both myself and my dogs from REAL people face to face just isn't here for me. I can definetely gather it on line, but its not the same and its so much better one on one!!! Everyone was so helpful in helping me figure things out and nobody told me I didn't belong or that I was asking stupid questions....

I hated having to come home after two weeks because I had to leave all that behind. I ran both hunt tests with my dogs and I can't think of a better way to have spent a vacation. Early training mornings, late chat nights and AWSOME people. Life doesn't get any better than that folks.

I have run a couple of CKC hunt tests, but in no way is there even a close comparison. These two events were top notch when it came to bieng organized and running smoothly. When you come to one of these two places to run your dogs, its like coming home to hang out with family...I definetly had quality time while I was there.

Thanks for the invite Kevin. I'll definetely be back next spring.

Debbie.

We were glad to have you Debbie, you are welcome to come down anytime. Glad you enjoyed running the tests, Can't even imagine how long the list of people you met in the 2 weeks would be. There were lots of people at the test asking where you were on sunday.

Now you just need to get ready to run seasoned next spring..........and getting a new puppy ready for started maybe:nice work:

Talk to you soon,

Kevin

Hey Steve. It was great meeting you and your wife Heidi as well. It was fun putting the faces to the names on the board eh!!! How did things go with her water test on Saturday? I left just before the hail came down and she hadn't run the water yet.

My trip was quick and depressing. I hated leaving every thing that I had just enjoyed for the last two weeks behind. The good thing is that I'll still be there next spring.

I should take a picture here, because down there the lilacs are in full bloom, and our trees here are just getting their leaf buds. Quite pathetic actually, although the dandilions are in full bloom!!

Tell Heidi to keep up the good work!!

take care.

Stevie, finally someone who knows how to handle dogs is taking over at your place!! Is she handling that chocolate girl?

Kev, the two pups in his avatar are 10 feet behind him, it makes him look like a giant ;)

I agree 110% Debbie H!! I had the wonderful opportunity to stay with Larry and Deb Hare, they are awesome! I had so much fun! I made so many new friends and saw some olds ones!! I was very nervous at the hunt test, it was my first time using a gun and sitting on a bucket. I kept thinking but how am I going to run the dog and use the gun?!?! The judges were so nice, Drake worked awesome, now if I can remember to do everything I'm suppose to I'll be all set. I can't wait to go to another UKC event, just have to check the calendar.

It was too bad that we didn't get to meet on Sun. It was a great day, Bill rocks!!

Steve,

That's awesome that Heidi is getting involved and running that little girl! And I hear yah with the black comment... How's the Dutchy doing?

Yeah I will be at OVHRC, it's the only test I'm running this year, we'll see how seasoned goes... Gotta focus on getting the house finished (1" Foam, Strapping, then Siding and Windows)

Hope to see yah and your gang ot OVHRC!
