We had a great training day on Sunday with LOHRC. The area we trained in was cut for the pheasant hunts they do in the fall, the fields were cut in rows.

Going there this evening as well as Friday to get Abbie use to transitions, hills, long and short stuff as well as to work on longer marks.

How was the road getting in there? Was up there a couple weeks ago and it took some work but I got the loser cruiser in there finally, lots of mud and some puddles the whole width of the road.

The loser cruiser (91 Aerostar) made it, but the wife was not looking too confident. I keep trying to talk her into a 4X4 but she says if I get one she gets one.

I made it all the way down to the boat launch no problem, but I guess a bunch of people got stuck in there the day before.

We were in a differant field this time. Turn right before you go into the Conservation Area (takes you to the east shore and cottages) past all the pines on the right and at the top of the hill (you can see cottages at the bottom) there is another entrance on the left. There is a broken gate and the trail/road that vears right takes you to some great fields.

The field we used to go to a lot was just past the turn off going to the east entrance. You will see the broken gate going into the Conservation Area. Turn right into the hay field right there. Looks flat when you drive in, but a really great hill farther in with higher cover at the bottom and a hill going up the other side. Used to use it all the time for teaching side hills and the flat part for beginner blinds.

luvmylabs are you talking about the field right up front? Right where the sign is for the crown land at the entrance? I seemed pretty manicured and awful close to the house on the west side of the entrance road so I wasnt sure who it belonged to.

Well so much for going out tonight, the "Honey Do" list was a mile long. :censored:

Just past the road where Nimkii says to turn right and just before the broken down gate going down to the lake. It is on the right hand side. Across the road is private land, but on the right, that hay field is crown. When the mud dries up, you can drive on the well worn path across the field and find another field. That field hooks up with the fields Nimkii was talking about at the east end. We were there a couple of weeks ago training. As long as you stayed just inside the entrance it was pretty dry. Don't try going over the hill though. :omg: Only down side is to watch for dog walkers. Lots of them stop there to take a walk. We were there for about 3 hours and met two different walkers with a third arriving just as we were packing up.
