Yesterday I buggered off work early and picked my son, Jaeden who is 7, up at school and we headed to Hullet for some pheasant. The weather was good, not too hot. I gave him the task of taking pictures as we went. We walked around and had a good conversation which consisted a lot of,
1. how long have we been here?
2. how long are we going to be here?
3. when we get home will it be my bed time?
4. tell me when it's been an hour.

We were out near the hydro lines and he kept taking his hat off, I think he was getting warm, and I was telling him how he needed to keep his hat on at all times so that other hunters could see him better and that it was a requirement when you are hunting and,,,, I had forgotten to put my hat on :busted2:

We were out for about an hour and a half and I was beginning to think we were going to get skunked but on the way back Fozzie put up a rooster in the tall native grass, I shot twice and down it went!! Fozzie put up a good hunt for the fallen bird and came up with it.

It was a good day. :clap2: Jaeden said he had fun, he got to see Fozzie put up a bird, his dad actually hit the bird and Fozzie work to retrieve the bird. Hopefully he will want to come out again.

Thanks guys. I haven't seen many ducks flying around. I was out yesterday morning first thing with a buddy of mine and we went to the same spot. There is a pond at the very back and it was loaded with geese.

Scott, for sure we should get together and go for a hunt. I will see if I can get time this coming weekend as it has been sugested that I have been spending too much time out hunting.
