What kind of pedigree is required to run a dog in a CKC field trial? CKC, AKC, FCI, NAVHDA?
I've looked for this info, but couldn't find it.
Thanks

I checked before because I am in the same boat as you, NAVHDA, FCI or UKC. I think you can run but the score is not recognized, check as I may be wrong.

This might help.
Only one I know for sure is not acceptable is the American Field /Stud Book registry.

In order to enter the dog must be eligible to be registered with the CKC. If the dog is born in Canada it must have CKC registered parents or it will not be eligible. If the dog was born in the US then there are ways to get it registered from NAVDHA and FDSB registries because the AKC recognizes them. Neither AKC nor CKC recognize the UKC. If your dog is registered in any other country that is a member of FCI it will be able to be registered directly with the CKC provided it is a breed that is recognized by the CKC. Not all breeds are because CKC rules require that there be a Canadian National Breed Club that has made application to the CKC for recognition as a breed.
That is brief, if you want more clarification ask.

So, my Pudelpointer born in the U.S. registered in NAVHDA would be elgible to run in a CKC field trial without actually registering it in the CKC, right?

I believe so. The Pudelpointer is a recognized breed by the CKC and although the CKC does not recognize the NAVHDA registry the AKC does. So in theory you could transfer the dog to AKC from NAVHDA and then transfer from AKC to CKC. Since it is possible to get the dog registered in CKC it is legal to enter and run the dog in a CKC event. Since the dog is not actually registered with the CKC you will need to pay a listing fee in addition to your entry fee and if you have a placement that earns points to a title I believe you have one year to get an official CKC registration for the dog before those points will be struck from the record.

Since your dog is not foreign owned you do not need an ERN.
Just in case you do need one (dog is foreign born AND foreign owned) the link for the form is here http://www.ckc.ca/aspweb/http/forms/pdf/150-14-50.pdf

Not a chance of using an American Field ( stud book registered ) dog in the CKC. The CKC believes our purebred history is suspect. :) - even though our recorded pedigrees go back a hundred years and all dogs are now DNA'd.:hand: The CKC is so anal that they inhibit their own growth. JMO
Have never used that " a " word on a forum,, but it just fits so well here that I can't resist. :)

If I'm not mistaken PPs are not reconized by the AKC , therefore you could not get an US born NAVHDA PP through the back door into the CKC .

CKC is protecting their turf to the detriment of the dogs. We were working on a very good 2 way relationship out here with the AFTCA folks and coordinating trials but they quickly lost interest in competing when their wins were struck down by the CKC.
Anal is a good word for their stance.

If the PP is not AKC recognized then there is no hope. And it will be a cold day in heii before the CKC is going to legitimize the NAVHDA registry with a reciprocal agreement - they can't even get on board with the FDSB.
