Any one eles out on Saturday? My two young dogs are getting it all together
and we left a morning hunt with four timberdoodles and I mist another two
another new hunter that was hunting with me missed another four pointed
W/C and a grouse.......that is what it is all about though, starting a fire that will burn for ever. I am shure glad that I had folks in my life that were willing
to work with some wet kindeling.
Hope you are enjoying the season as much as I am!

With this cold weather and snow the northern woodcock should be hitting the Toronto area any day now and should be some good hunting until they depart down south:boo: !

something about these little birds just gets me so fired up I love every part of the hunt! Even my wife and children love the taste of them,Katelyn(7) has already got her eye on my 20ga Browning Gold fusion ......(the reason I purchesed it in the first place was for the two of them) and Joshua wants
to be a profesional dog trainer..... both have come on a few hunts this year
Katlyn for grouse and woodcock and Joshua loves the waterfowl thing as I field hunt with him and I can drive him to the blind (Bad leg from stroke)
and he points out the geese for Dad to wack and stack lol I am so greatfull
for the time afield with my children.:first:

Glad to see you here Johnathon. You are absolutely correct in saying the time with the kids is so important. There is a saying that I have seen around, "If you take your kids hunting when they are young you won't have to hunt for them when they are older." I don't know what woodcock numbers are like here but hope to get out for ptarmigan before the snow flies to much to get out on the open country. I will try to look for snipe as they are around as well.
