Beautiful pictures and thanks for sharing them! However, I am curious about doing an early November hunt out west for huns and sharptails next year. I do the opener in September every year. I am curious what to expect in November if the birds will still hold tight or if it's a much tougher hunt since they are now older and educated? I have heard that most birds will bust out wild and it's a very tough for a pointing dog. Can you tell me what you have seen with your past experience. I am also assuming that there is no snow or a dusting of snow on the ground.

roosters defiantly get tougher to get as the season goes on if the area is hunted lots the birds get educated fast...sharpies are closed in November in Alberta. The last couple seasons have had very little snow but every year is different we have had seasons with lots of snow...If your looking to hunt Alberta hit the Pheasant opener in mid October sharpies and Huns are also open and the weather is generally favorable

Junior-
I must have had pheasants on the brain...sharptail open 1st week of October(tee-shirt weather) they defiantly get jumpy as the season goes on but as the covey's get broken up it seams there are more singles and pairs around and hold well for pointing dogs..same goes for the partridge
I hope this better answers you question..

Cohod-thank-you and that was what I was hoping you would say. I am going to plan two trips out west next year one in the early season and one in early November during our deer season in Ontario.
