I finally got into some decent flight birds yesterday just north of Toronto. The last two years have been tough for me in finding good numbers of woodcock. I am used to the days of finding 15-20 birds when they migrated. I have been typically finding 2 or 3 birds. However, yesterday we put up 12 woodcock and they were as skittish as grouse. They were busting 20-30 feet in front of the dogs. The storm must of caused them to fly south on Tuesday night which did not make them hold tight and nor did I find them in typical woodcock covers. I am hoping it will be just as good on Saturday and they hold tight for the pup. Anyone else having any luck on flight birds?

Hit them on Saturday ...Bradford area. We had 3 young pointers working
together and we were able to harvest 5 woodcock and we missed on four
others also we had 3 ruffies flushed .....I was not the gunner on these
and well I think they are still flying. all in all a great day to be out in Gods playground!:first:
