Long story short, I can see color just fine but I cannot see the difference in some colors so browns and reds look the same dark blues and black looks the same to me.

Anyway because of this I have trouble seeing the orange ribbon out in the field. Once I spot it I am usually ok. In training I usually just leave a little tail on the ribbon and the movement in the wind helps me pick it out.
When I am at a test I have to watch the test dog pick the bird up and then watch the bird boy replant the new blind and usually pick out a landmark from there like right in line with the tree or something like that.

Does anyone else have this problem and what have you done about it or can you do anything. I wish there was some type of sun glasses on the market that would make that color stand out more or something like that.

I always have white ribbon in the truck but the judges will never let me put it out:sad1:

What about weating orange, or yellow shooting glasses, would that not help it pop-out? Have you ever tried?

Kevin,
Be sure to get glasses that are 'vermillion' in colour. That particular colour helps trap shooters quickly pick up an orange target most shooting stores should have/get those for you.

My grandfather is the same way and he used the shooters glasses to help him see the markers better. But when I found out his vision was that way I used to mix up his socks, blacks with blues...boy did I get a lickin' when he found out...he worked for the State of New Jersey!!! Everyone else thought it was funny...

Thanks Jim, A guy in our club is on the board for the local trap club. I will call him and see if he knows where I could find some and try it out.

I have a pair of Randolf Ranger Shooting glasses that I use the vermillion lenses in.It makes orange targets look like pumkins, they just glow, does the same for ribbon. So if you can find a pair give them a try. Frank McCaig at Galt gun club sells them. PM me if you'd like his #
