Have decided to make Brighton our first trial of the season. Not sure howmany dogs we will take. Would like to run Willy junior if the CKC gets off the pot with his registration. Thinking of run Amateur but Reggie will have to pull up her socks if that is to happen. The others are still qual.

Beginning to think I should have enter Trip in the Am and left Reggie in Qual. Sunday Trip slammed the quad with two retired guns and Reggie was really down. I have obviously done something stupid in training that has broken her confidence. We are working on building her back up with the bumper gun and hopefully some live pigeons. I feel really badly that I have done this to her and now have some real therapy to do. She always ran with enthusiasm and never refused but lately she has not been herself. Too much pressure on a blind is what did it now I have to fix it.
Hoping to run Ruth's puppy but please don't call me a shamateur. This is just for fun.

I'll be there. I'm a late # in both the Open & Am. Coming from Niagara through Toronto, so hopefully I don't get into any traffic jams. I can leave early, and sit in traffic, or leave later and hope for the best. Toronto sucks.
This will be mine and Blue's first trial this year, so I'm not sure what to expect of him, but whether it's nerves or frustration, I'm sure he'll make me want to puke.

Sorry, can you explain to me what this sentance means (I am new!)
"Land triple w/2 retired. 30 dogs picked up out of 32 dropped on 1st series. 4 dropped on land blind"

The 1st series was a land triple with 2 of the gunners retiring (hiding after they threw the mark) 30 out of the 51 dogs did not complete the marking setup and were called in by their handlers. Only 1 dog that actually found all the birds was dropped(not called back for the next series) by the judges. The 2nd series was a land blind and 4 dogs were not called back by the judges and were dropped. There will be 2 more series tomorrow. A water blind and water marking setup.

Thanks Drew -- Dana is having a great year so far -- other Junior dogs to finish included littermates Springwaters Nubile Lady (RCM) and Springwaters Dee (CM); wish my Maxx could have done as well as his sisters but there's always next time

Saw the second series of the junior. It was no gimme. Bird placement mfooled a lot of the young dogs on the land test. They were backsiding and hooking the long gun as there was a wide open space behind the gunner. A great group of young dogs however, can't wait to get my girl back. Maybe August, September for sure. She is a headstrong lass.
I'm sure Maxx will join his sisters soon.

I've spoken to a few people who watched the Junior series -- Maxx had two very nice series on land but got to water -- real nice job on go bird but had to be handled on long bird (got caught up in old scent) -- funny thing was I got email from somebody at trial -- message read "Maxx looking good and congratulations" -- I get message towards end of day and since I really don't know how he's doing (actually forgot he entered), I try checking with everybody partly thinking from the email that Maxx might have done OK -- little did I realize it was just this person's way of telling me how great looking my dog is but not really a comment on his performance (although he apparently did well for two series) -- any way I'm either "kennel blind" or a "wishful thinker" or just waiting for "our day in the sun" -- seriously though I'm very pleased with Maxx -- he needs to mature a bit (still has that puppy goofiness at times) -- but he loves the game -- has TONS of drive, as well as brains, looks, and a good attitude; a lot of dog to get back into FTs with but then don't wish for anything or you might just get it -- probably highest flying dog I've ever owned -- I'm very thankful to Dan and Gloria DeVos for training Maxx -- he wouldn't be near the dog without their help -- still I'm looking forward to getting him home soon and working with him myself -- I'm taking a couple of weeks vacation to go down and train with Dan so I get "trained" properly too

Maxx is running at Orangeville this weekend and at Long Point the next weekend -- Dan will run him in those trials -- Maxx is a lot of dog to handle -- and I'm not ready for that yet -- I need "training" first -- don't want to run him myself if there's a chance of developing any problems -- past Long Point will depend on Maxx
