Hey Gang,

I have seen this done on another forum ( in fact I think Mav took part in it) and thought I would pose the question here to see if there is any interest.

Are any of you interested in getting together for a Waterfowl Hunt? Once the HT & FT season is over and the Waterfowl season is going we could set something up to get together and do a little duck & goose hunting.

Hey,

Well it looks like there is interest :spoton: so I will start looking into setting this up for us. I think the hardest part will be deciding on what dog's get to make the hunt as I am sure we will have MANY to choose from

I will give you a call next week Mav to see how things went on that hunt you were a part of.

Well one thing we can do is try and make it centrally located for all of us. That way no one has to drive too far.

Don;t worry about having a retriever, I think with all of us retriever guys on the forum we might have one or two to choose from :cheesy:

Depending on the number of people interested and the locations where people are coming from, it may not be a bad idea to have more than one forum hunt.

If you used a place like Long Point or Hullet, you could always split into groups of hunters and dogs.

I was thinking the same thing but there is one problem with that. TO get a Blind in Long Point on a weekend you need to line up the night before.

Not if you decide to hunt , the outside of the Bluff Marsh, Little Rice or Big Rice. Also you have the option of B zone if you have a west wind.

Little Rice or B zone are our best choices for those that have smaller boats....

What about Lake Simcoe? What's the waterfowling like there?

It would be centrally located ( I think) for everyone.

Lake Simcoe can be a great place to hunt and some of the best hunting comes after deer season. There is ample FREE parking and a short boat ride to the cane fields.

After the last couple of days here I think we would need a few chaperone's to keep the hunt in order...:boxing: :argue:

Sorry I couldn't resist...

At least we wouldn't need any bus drivers...:cheesy: :cheesy:

Kevin and I were talking last night and came up with Tiny Marsh as a central location for a forum hunt. The problem is I have never personally hunted there and from what I have been told the optimum time to hunt this would be end of October..... that's short notice!!

does anyone have experience hunting this area that could give some insite?

We talked about him as well Chris, if we try to set this up this season or next we will probably talk to Lee alot to help set up motel locations and such. Hopefully he sees the thread and jumps in with some feedback and suggestions.

Lee is arranging a pheasant hunt for Saturday October 27th. the only rules I know for waterfowl at Tiny are stay out of the sanctuary and don't shot off the dike. I would suggest you contact Lee for details and cost. You might get a morning waterfowl and an afternoon pheasant hunt in.
