Looks like I will have lots of time to train my dogs this summer. The factory I work at planned a 2 week summer shut down as order's are dieing and a couple of weeks ago they said we now have the week of May 28th off...
Well the other day they added more time off, the week of June 25th. So as it stands now I got to wook 2 weeks and then I am off for a week. Then I get to work 3 weeks and then I am off 3 weeks. There are also rumours of 2 weeks off in August and 2 weeks in September.
No wonder I am in the process of getting out of there and into something that is a little more secure. Well at least I will be able to get lots of Trainin in:idea:

Its hard sometimes when business slows down and a factory either has to lay off workers or even to close down for some time -- but as you said you get more time to train the dogs -- looking forward to meeting up with you at Long Point -- in mean time I wish you the best of luck in finding a more secure job -- gotta be able to feed this habit some how

I don't know what is happening to the manufacturing sector in our area. Three plants are in trouble and if they start laying off or close it is going to be really hard on the economy around here. I had a young man come to me on Tuesday and ask if I would take his dog as he is having to move to Manitoba and can't take both of his dogs wiht him. He was heart broken. I told him I will keep the dog for him in his name and if he gets settled and can have him I will see that Willy gets out to him even if we have to drive him ourselves. I felt so sorry for him and this is a nice young male from one of my breedings. Just be thankful you are not in his position and enjoy all the time you can get with your dog. I'm sure that things have got to start looking up.
Best of luck.

Anna,
I always thought you had a heart of gold -- what you're doing for that young man is more than kind -- my hat's off to you

I get laid off from my part time job at least once usually twice a year. It's sort of bitter sweet. I have time off to do stuff like dog training but then money is usually short for birds because I'm not working.
