OK, Abbie's stools are pure mush, I mean baby food mush. Any ideas other than food?
I mixed the food from the hunt tests with the the food she is currently on (same brand, just not chicken) so not to shock her system.
Guess I shocked it huh?

Was she drinking strange water on the weekend. This will do it as well. We always travel with water from home.
Try mixing a little cottage cheese with her food if the problem persists.

if cottage cheese doesn't work try adding some boiled rice

I just got a hold of the breeder (Abbie exploded at home with the wife and kids while I am at work...lol...). She (the breeder) said to cook up some hamburger and boil some rice, mix it half and half and then feed Abbie the same amount as I would her kibble. She also said to give her a tablespoon of Pepto everytime she has a BM. That will settle her stomach. If it persists for a couple more days, take her to the vet, if there is blood take her in pronto, and lots of water so she doesn't dehydrate.
She thinks she got into something...doesn't believe its the food.

Hey Nimkii,
When I was having issues with my 3yo with loose stool's my vet told me to boil hamburger & rice and feed that to him. It worked like a charm, and I still do this when ever this issue pops up.
I have had food do this to him years back. I tried many varieties of Pro Plan but everyone of them set him off and I was back to boiling hamburger & rice every time. The only one that agree'ed with him was pro Plan 'sensitive stomach and skin" If you recently mixed his food with another variety ( at the HT ) it very well could have been what set him off.

Colitis or frequent/explosive large intestinal diarrhea is a fairly common problem. It can be brought on by any of the above factors, stress, diet change, different water, and sometimes seems to occur spontaneously. Here's a Googled link to a pretty good summary. Metronidazole is often a quick and effective treatment for colitis and not bad to have on hand if you're travelling/trialing/hunting with your dog.

I just read the recent posts about the diarrhea problem. I'm assuming it's a puppy, and I agree: boiled rice and hamburg or chicken without the skin is a bland diet that helps the digestive system. I have found the most common reason for diarrhea in a puppy is bacterial overload regardless of the initiating cause. That's why the metronidazole works so well. Also when they are stressed, their immunity is often compromised and if they have a low burden of giardia, the giardia multiple and cause diarrhea. My choices of treatment are flagyl (metronidazole) or tylocine. Both work, and in a puppy where the chance of giardia is high, I would use the flagyl first. Ask your vet for a few extra and keep them on hand for when you need them. The rule of thumb is ...Only treat with either product if there is no vomiting, and the dog is otherwise happy. Oh yes, a word to the wise. If you give pepto tablets, remember to tell the vet if you ever xray. Those tablets show up as a foreign body otherwise. You don't want to be paying a vet good money for an exploratory to remove a pepto bismol tablet. Hope this helps Cindy

Thanks everyone. I wound up taking Abbie to the vet yesterday. Her stools formed up Tuesday morning and by noon it was back to the cow pies. She never lost her energy though, same dink as always...
Anywho...the vet gave me 9 Loperamide 2mg and 30 Metronidazole 250mg tabs. He didn't hear anything or find anything with her abdomen. He thinks she got into something and it will pass in time.
lol...I forgot about the Pepto tabs...ever try and give a dog the liquid stuff...talk about a fight...:fencing:...and a mess...:censored:
