Tips for training with a E-Collar

Alright folks I am interested in getting some help use me new e-collar. What have you done that you found worked really well for training your dogs with E-collars????

Watched the training video that came with my Tritronics collar. Determine the proper collar setting for my dog. Watched and followed the Mike Lardy collar conditioning video. Use sparingly and only when needed.

I am no expert at all, but my suggestions is,......Watch the Mike Lardy collar conditioning DVD at least 6 times before you do anything.

Are you training a brittany or a Lab?

I will second Rocko and AD18. Get the Lardy DVD and use it. Your dog has to be conditioned before you start to use the collar. As well remember, you don't teach with a collar. Make sure he understands the commands before you use the collar on him.

What everyone elese said . The e-collar is a wonderfull tool show it respect and respect for the animal that is wearing it and watch the video several times.
