We had a great time this weekend. The weather was hot, but the grounds were superb and the dinner on Saturday was amazing! Thanks to Shelley Blom for that.

We had an interesting weekend. Boots was close to a pass on Saturday, but had too many scallops on a water blind that crushed alot of dogs in both Finished flights. Taylor managed a Finished pass on Sunday, even though she humped me for about 30 seconds after delivering the 3rd land mark in the morning! Our judge, Paul Ramponi, was very clear in the handlers' meeting that he wanted to see Finished control throughout the test, so I wasn't sure what he would do about the "incident", but I guess there's nothing in the rulebook about a dog humping its handler, so we got a ribbon. Gotta work on that though...

Lastly, we got to raise a glass of champagne to my good friend and mentor John Chevalier, who handled Kramer to 1,000 points yesterday. Kramer can now enjoy a well earned retirement. Kramer also has about 45 CKC Master Hunter passes, which must be close to a record. He's quite a dog :first:

To the members, the judges, bird techs at Luther Marsh - You guys all worked your butts off in the heat this weekend. Friday night hospitality was super! Al your deep fried perch fillets were delicious! We didn't get a Seasoned pass this weekend but my dog and I had a terrific time running some really good tests and learned a couple of things that we need to work on. Dinner Sat. night was outstanding! It was really nice to eat in the A/C! Thank you Shelly and crew! Mario, the jr. handlers program was a delight and the kids got great goody bags! Mario - I must say you worked your you know what off to make sure that the Seasoned test went well. Take care of that back, eh! The grounds were superb, the food was great and your club members were awesome! Thanks once again!

Congrats to all those that passed and achieved milestones this past weekend!:first:
