Good luck. I see them on ebay once in a while, but not usually any deals. You could always build your own...:dog:

Did you check on the zingerwinger site? His new uplander traps are nice, and the service is always great.

Well I am breaking down and buying one. I am gonna make a little extra money this week carrying the pager so. I am buying one from Cabelas online. There is a DT systems launcher and remote for 279 US. CAD is pretty strong right now.. so I will not lose much on the exchange. This will allow me to move to the next level with training
I'd think twice about the DT system. My uncle has/had a DT collar and it was a piece of JUNK. He is buying a TT or Sportdog REAL soon. Agree with Kev, Zinger Winger equipment tough to beat on reliabilty and service. Last you a long time......

It will last you a long time, and if it doesn't Robert will work with you to fix it and make things right. You will have to look a long time to find better service in my opinion.

$269 Canadian, and you are supporting a canadian company as well.

Start saving, at this rate you are $269 USD of the way there.
You might be able to find some electronics to run it for sale on other sites used a bit cheaper.

To minimize the expense and if you are training with another person you could purchase a manual release trap. With the other person and a long string they were more effectively than the push botton. The person on the string can react faster than the release trap.
You will find that the automated units have different speeds, depending on the manufacturer, and it also varies depending on the quality of the batteries in the unit. The timing of these units is critical, and far to frequent if you have an eagar pup by the time you push the release buttom you can count two steamboats. That is too slow! A fast moving dog with a slow reaction handler, combined with a release unit that you can count numbers on can do more damage to the dog than the dog catching the bird.

The folks I purchased my male from in the US use DT launchers only and rate them as the best ones for upland on the market. The birds load from the side to prevent escape while toploading.
I know they have been using theirs for well over a year and a half and they are pro's so they see a lot of use and have stood up well for them.
I would love to add a pair of them as well.
Good luck with the new training aide sir.

I made one with a simple trigger release. Just pull a string and the bird is released. So hmmm... I thought about it and yes the remote would be just awsome but in my experience I knew I would only be using it until I could trust my dog to whoa or point without creeping. So I made one for a few bucks. If I had to train a lot of dogs I would certainly by one or two.
