Hey Rocko.......check out www.zinkcalls.com
You can look at a Power Clucker or Power Maximus in Poly Carb for around 40.00.
Both very user friendly for beginners and sound great!
QuackZilla great call for 30 bucks...

I was in the same spot you are about a month ago, wanted to get a decient call to learn on.
Spoke to a couple pretty good (competative) callers to get some recomendations.
The two I narrowed it down to were both middle of the road type calls, not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.
Here are the two calls.

I ended up going with the Tim Grounds call, I really like it.

A great affordable call is the Cole's Carange Collector by Foiles Migrators (PolyCarb) 69 bucks or so. If you wanted to spend a little more, the Foiles Strait Meat Honker is one heck of a easy blowin' call and sounds very goosey and is extremely easy to blow great for a beginnger!

I really like it now, I have spent quite a bit of time practicing on it. I have a whole new respect for the guys who call competatively.

hahahah
Short reeds are the way to go.
I started w/ a Tim Grounds half breed. It was a little tough to learn on, and had limited range.
On a whim I tried a Heartland Flatliner.
I don't think they are made anymore, but I find it real easy to use.
My son Robert is better with his, than I am with mine.
I broke mine last week.
Hopefully they can fix it.

OUt of all the GK calls I would recommend the Canuck Like Frank. Doesnt require a lot of air to blow and is a very quck goosey call...... Its the only one I use everyday.. not that that means anything lol
