Has anyone ever used layout blinds from the shoreline, and if so, how did they work?

Used them last season hunting a field that after a couple days of heavy rain created a pond in the middle of it which then filled up with ducks and geese. We set up with water and land deeks and set the blinds on the edge of the pond. They worked well there.

I've seen layouts used that way on a couple of videos I have and it looks like they work really well. The blinds were covered with corn stalks and ground cover and they blended right in, even had one for the dog.

Have been using khaki "PowerHunters" last couple of years on eastern lake Ontario shoreline and points, lots of big rock and very little other cover. The blinds work great even on late season mallards and blacks, and also get some Buffies and Whistlers. Some of the layouts have a neoprene "boot" the would be a good option if your right on the edge of the water. We wear waders in the layouts so a little water doesn't hurt.
Here's some pics
