The lake in my front yard is one of the few winter training grounds I have where the snow is not too deep. Based on a trial series that I heard about being set up by a friend (Ruth B.) I've made a few of my neighbours laugh. The story goes that Ruth was faced with using a blank, feature barren field to set up a qualifying land series. One of the competitors viewed the field on set up day and was quite pleased with the prospect of an easy land marking series. On trial day, the competitor arrived to see a field planted with an uncountable number of small pine trees - ready to bounce the dogs around on their quest to collect the marks.

So, using this as inspiration, I've asked my neighbours to donate to me their used Christmas trees in an effort to add some 'features' to my 'field'. My wife is happy about my new found interest in recycling.

Cheers,
Ron

Ron that reminds me of the Christmas trees that they used to use at the Sportsmen Show for the Gold Whistle....and I believe several of these trees had their own "stand" or two pieces of wood crossed together and tacked onto the base of the tree....a few young dogs were "surprised" by such trees falling over if run into

LOL!!! Oh, leave it to Ruth! She has helped me set up some pretty wild training set-ups. I have used lawn chairs, pinwheels, ladders or you name it, Drake has rocketed over/by and between it all! Can we have a picture???
