It has been a fun waterfowl season. I was able to get out for more than in previous years; somewhere around 40 times. Next year I plan to keep a journal as I know many of you do. I met a few new friends out there this year and hope to share a hunt next season with them. Only 8 more months, if I don't get out for a late season goose hunt, let the countdown begin!
Here are some pics from the last couple hunts. The first pics are from Saturday. My buddy and I decided to just shoot drakes, which we ended up with 7. The temps starting out the day were -22c with a soft north wind, with very little wave action. The hardest part of the hunt, was that the sun was right in out face which made it hard for shooting, as well as making it hard to take any decent pics. But here are a couple.

Sunday, my son and I got out, which is starting to become tradition. Ironically the last day of the season is some of the best shooting of the year. Temps were more moderate, starting out at about -15c but warmed up rather quickly to -9c, I think, but there was little to no waves. The birds were just not moving around that much. Still ended up with 4 birds, but packed up early to get to hockey practice. It was a slightly overcast day which made it a little easier to take pics than the previous day.

Liza would not stop scanning the water for birds, even after several attempts and tactics to get her to look in the direction of the camera.
