Camp Maple Leaf

Has anyone over Peterbough way heard of this camp. It is on Pigeon Lake in the Kawarthas. The reason I ask is I got a call tonight from a telemarketer asking for donations. After I declined on the first call he called right back I again declined, the third call my husband took, the fourth call my husband took and was not very polite, with the fifth call the conversation turned nasty and the guy said he was just calling to bug us. I know this camp probably does good works as it received a 1.5 million dollar grant from the governemnt infrastructure money but I really resent being treated like this.

It is a legitimate camp. I would call though about the number of calls being placed to your number. I have fished around that island. They also discovered a burial ground there as well last spring or summer, can't quite remember when.

I know of the camp, I did some work for them a number of years back. Other than that I don't know much of the operation.

Sounds to me like you annoyed the telemarketer and now they are just being unprofessional and trying to annoy you. I would call the camp itself and raise a stink, if they hired a company to raise money for them they will get a lot further with a complaint than you will.

After our conversation this last time I don't think they will be calling again. he hung up when I told him I had made a complaint to the OPP and given them the info. Don't p...off the witches of Wyebridge
