All the snow in the yard is gone, although I did scoop the yard through the winter there was still a load of crap out there to clean up. So I raked the yard, still have to bag and dispose, but does anyone know of a product that can be sprayed on the lawn that would kill any eggs that lay dormant if there is any. With the amount of rain expected in the next couple of days, the dogs will be tracking through whatever is soaked in the ground.
Also, do you wipe your dogs feet with any cleaners/sanitizers when they come in?

Lord Nimki between Eden and I we have 10 dogs and 120 acres but they all crap in the front yard. I say the world is covered in dog crap when the snow goes. keep mats at the doors but don't wipe their feet. Not sure what you want to spray for? Pin worms, whip worms, tapeworm, flea and tick eggs? There are products on the market depending on what you are spraying for.

Thanks Anna,
I spoke with my vet and they just called back. Apparnetly there is this dusting powder diatomaceous earth that you put on your lawn and it takes the moisture out of any critters that are living in it. Fleas, ticks, grubs, earwigs, anything. Safe for people and animal, just don't inhale it when applying (mask) don't do it on a windy day and water after dusting the yard.
Gonna give it a go.

I know the product you are talking about. It is sold to get rid of nematodes which include all of your soft bodied wormy type species. good luck with the spring clean up.last night when we went to bed the field across the road was covered in snow, this morning it is bare ground. Still some patches in our yard but I'm sure that March will go out like a lion as it has been pretty lambish so far. Rand has cut the big old dying maples and some smaller trees that were blocking our ability to set up a real nice set of marks. Clean up day for the rest of the property is scheduled for April 11. That is the day we do a lot of cutting and clearing for the training season.
It won't be long now.

We did yard cleanup yesterday, very busy. In the winter ours too go in the yard, so Hunter was on poop patrol, Bob and I picked up sticks that the dogs brought out of the woods to play with and raked some of the driveway back into the driveway. Oh and while all of this was going on Woodie was swimming in the pond, having a great time.

Diatomaceous earth is also good to give to your dogs internally for worms - 1/4 tsp on their food every day. You can also dust their coats with it to kill fleas. It's safe as it is also used in flour to kill critters. Kills ants and slugs too! It does wash away, though, so don't use just before a rain.
