Finally got my Lardy DVD's. Watched the first already. What I found most useful is the Fireside Discussion.

Abbie has line issues, some would say I have issues too, but that's another story. Abbie is very exitable and vocal at tests and training with the group.

I have tried taking Abbie off the line when training and putting her back in the truck, but she seems to get geared up even more. This isn't working, so I'll try Lardy's approach.

I am going to keep her on a short lead and have a gunner throw a short mark (20-40yds). If she moves or makes a sound, she gets a "Quiet", the gunner will pick up the mark and we will repeat. Keep it simple to make her succeed in what I want out of her. Keep a high standard as to what I want and extend it out. She is 16 months old now and this needs to stop. What I don't understand is she didn't start this until this spring, she didn't make a sound last summer and fall.

I thinks it's something we call drive Ross ;) Them show dogs need to be taught how to unleash the beast! ;)

I think it's A.D.D. This dog is a total bonehead when it comes to getting in the crowd. Yeah she has drive alright, she's driving me out of my mind...

I assure you, many of us have similar problems ;)

I don't think there is a magic bullet for it, other than constantly correcting it. The difficult part is it's impossible to simulate the HT feeling. Even funhunts don't crank em up quite as much.
