The test being refered to is the Natural Ability test for dogs under 16 months. The dog must retrieve twice from a pond, track a pheasant and point birds in a field. The dog's natural abilities are being tested, and not so much obedience and training like in the Utility Test where a lot of work with the dog is required. I saw a GSP that hadn't had much work done with it and had never seen a bird until about 3 days before the test point a couple pigeons and then score very well in the NA test, a Prize 1 I believe. I concede to Big Bird if there is any mistake in what I have explained as he has much more experience than I regarding NAVHDA.

Just wondering who from this board will be going to this test?

Dilly

I will be there both days, and I will not be hard to find....

Be willing to answer any questions .

To see the complete program as we usually do all water first, then field and finally a track test. This sequence may alter because of weather. Ten dogs on Saturday and currently 7 Sunday

Thanks Jack, I have some commitments this weekend (Mothers Day and all) but am trying to work in a trip up there. What time do things get under way and where do I find everyone?

Things start at 7:30 each day and finish up in yhe late afternoon...Depending on the time you arrive and time you have to stay will depend on if you you more than one portion of the test. How ever it is a great opportunity to meet folks that have puppies withthe similar interest as you.

Most love to entertain questions and of course show their dog.welcomeani

It was nice meeting you and seeing the tests. Thanks for the warm welcome. My membership package was on the kitchen counter when I arrived home today...hows that for timing.

Dilly, did you get to walk the test with someone and see how it went first hand?

I observed from a distance and for the most part, could see what was going on. A couple guys explained what was going on and it was very beneficial for me to go and see it first hand. Is there a training group who get together regularly?
