I am having some trouble with my GSP puppy Souris.. I don't know if you guys would have any tips on this but I have been using the Kennell at night and while we are gone to work. Now she does not like it at all, I have tried food treats but she won't eat and the treat she just takes it and then wants out. I have also put in some toys and a ticking clock. I will have to say she has been better the last couple of days but still very hard..
Any one out there have any tips on this..
Thanks in Advance,

my dog does not like his crate much either. He likes to be out and about. That being said he will go in there when I tell him to. Occasionally though he still fights it. Just be consistent and patient. It will change over time

I've crate trained my GSP and she loves it. One thing I did that might help you is I created a little den for her. Her crate is in a quite corner, I put a blanket over it to give her a little security. We give her a treat whe nshe goes in it. When we first got her see whinned like crazy. It took a few nights but she go over that fast. Now she sits in it when ever she wants too.
I would not give in to her when you put her in it. ignore her. If you pay attention to her or look at her I think her fuss might get worse.
Just my 2cnts what worked for me.

Chris is right. Don't give in, let her whine and carry on. Especially at night. Dogs are like kids.... they will push and push like kid to see what your limits are. Don't give in man

Not sure how old your pup is but if she's in the crate thru the night and then another 8-9 hrs thru the day while you're at work that's a tough one. It's hard to expect a high energy dog to like to be confined that much of the time. A tired dog is a happy dog. If she's home alone thru the day, getting someone to let her out for excercise/activity midday will likely improve things. It's sounds as if she may see her crate as solitary confinement rather than a quiet refuge when she's tired or wants to sleep.

Well my pup is 2 months old today and she does sleep in it during the night and during the day but I go home on my breaks and at lunch to let her out to run out side. She is getting better now the whole den idea worked great.. Once she is fully house broken then I will be letting her stay out during the day and night with out lab as well.. I think that was a big problem she was seeing our 6 year lab running around while she was stuck in the crate but she is getting a lot better now. Only making a few misses now so I hope to have her house broken in at least another 2 weeks..
Thanks everyone for all the info..
