QUOTE=3 black dogs;34807]Saturday 8:30 AM[/QUOTE]

Junior will be in the field next to the ball diamond at the Allanburg Bridge on Hwy 20 where it crosses the Welland Canal.
Open water blind will be in the Hydro pond nearby 18 dogs to this test.
Open 1st test series was an excellent land quad. 2 retired.
Lots of variable work on this test.
2nd series was a Dbl Land blind. One very short & tight to the long blind.
Nice tests.

Amatuer will be in the field between Danny's esso & the prison. on Hwy 58 (& 20) at 10am sharp (I hope)

Reminder, A tailgate with a ton of awesome food is happening @ the Port Robinson Communtity Centre Saturday night.

Who's still playing in the Qual????

Inquiring minds want/need to know:wave:

Congratulations to all who finished. I heard it was a pretty meaty seies of tests from a Qualifying standard of judging.

(I now know it wasn't mine:violin::Cry:)

If it was the dog you are talking about on the quad land series . I was on the long station and there was at least 300 to 400 yards to the road where the mark was thrown .The dog did leave the field and head that way but I think what scared everyone was there was some cover where they couldnt see it .When the marshal came on the radio to yell and help the dog she was back in the field between me and the other gunner but in a valley where the gallery couldn t see it and about 200yrds east of where it had left the field .The dog was sitting in the valley out of sight because the dog had heard the handler blowing the whistle .The Marshal was quick to react and I actually thought there was another dog out there because I couldn t tell why they were so panicked when the dog was right in front of me . I did call it in on the radio and when the handler started tooting the whistle the dog actually came in and picked up the other retired guns bird and went in . I was the closest to the dog as you could get and thought it was a very safe test and thought everyone reacted quite well .

I was at the trial and watched every dog run and I must say every reasonable precaution for the safety of the dogs was taken. If the ? of the road was on the water marks it was a closed controlled road. If a dog was on it they mismarked the bird by at least 75 yds or cheated the water. I do believe we should be cautious about putting these questions on the forum when we are just looking for validation. Things like this on an open forum make me wonder why people would want to judge. Actually Jim, in hindsight I agree with you. It was a poorly thought out question that will accomplish nothing.

I'm sure everybody concerned did what they thought was in the interests of safety.

I'm not looking for any validation. It was just a question that, in hindsight, should not have been asked. As I said, I wasn't there.

And as for judging, I'm happy when anybody steps up. I'ts a thankless job and I appreciate the efforts people put into setting up good, challenging and safe tests given the dwindling supply of good grounds to run on.

Probably a good time to drop this topic and I apologize for opening my mouth before engaging all of my brain.

Not the first time that's happend, regards.:rolleyes:

Between QA2, John Mairs, & whoever else, I'm sure alot of great pictures were taken this weekend.
Lee Woodhouse claimed that he doesn't judge in the rain.
We had an 80% chance of rain Sunday.
Save for a few drops, everone stayed pretty dry.
That's impressive Lee.
Tell us your secret.
