Just a quick question. I have noticed on Abbie's belly, areas that look like caked on dirt, but it's not. She doesn't seem bothered when I look at them. I did give her a bath and we have done some water work but the spots are still there. Her skin is a little more pink than it should be. I have checked her ears and looked through the rest of her coat but everything looks fine, no odour of anykind as well.
Any suggestions.

Make sure your dog is dried off well on her belly. It is best if she is tied out after being in the water. Sometimes, if wet, a dog will get something that looks a lot like a heat rash on their bellies. Don't know why but girls seem more prone to it than boys. Had two of my girls get this rash. Finally figured our it was because they were laying in their crate and the mat they were laying on would get wet. After laying on it for a while this rash will develop. Both girls seemed to get over it after they were 1-1 1/2 years old.

Skin that's been inflammed, had a rash, "heat spot" or hot spot/moist staph. bacterial dermatits will become more pigmented after the inflammation has subsided as melanin or skin pigment will be deposited in areas of skin reactivity. May also be due to UV exposure this time of year in thinly haired areas like the belly.
