I was reading a thread in the tailgate forum and it seems alot of people are saying to run a V or W drill instead of cast. I was wondering if anyone could explain how to run these drills?
I have been using dobbs method for the sit whistle and haveing been reading and trying to figure out what is next.

Hope I can explain this for you although I haven't used a V, but I assume it's the same as the W.
These drills are used to teach lining, just like wagon wheel, except you're walking around the bumpers which are arranged in a W, whereas with wagon wheel you are sending the dog from one location in the centre of the wheel. WW is better for teaching a dog thats just learning, whereas the W can be stretched out for longer lines, adding factors, running past bumper piles, etc.

There is an article on the W drill in Dobbs.
