--> Basically is a write off on the first day of a test, no matter what you try it's just test high and sucks on that first day?

Pocket is usually a write off for the first test or close to it. It's not test wise as the second and third days we pull off a very good dog off the truck. But the first day we have a drunk that comes off the truck! I've run the snot our of her the night before, tried to simulate a test day the day before, thrown happy bumpers in the morning before we go, done serious training marks the morning before....

If anyone has one of these drunks...what have you done? She's 2 in Sept and a Chessie so I know it is a bit of a maturity issue also, but still any tricks would help. Thanks!

Maybe if you gave some concrete examples of what she does??? WHen you say she acts drunk, that can me numerous things...

If you mean she doesn't mark, and pops or something, then maybe you need more distractions? Don't know exactly what you're dealing with...

Sorry...I guess examples would be of help:rolleyes: but the problem is it's kind of different everytime. One time it'll be $%tty marking and putting up hunts on birds I know she saw or should have, other times it's dinking around with the bird and blinking it (this was adressed though with ff and hasn't happened since), another is ignoring heel and trying to drag me to the line, sometimes it's terrible hunts when normally she's a very intelligent hunter.

The worst part is that the next day she is bang on and the night before was bang on...so it's like she has 1st day idiot syndrome!:icon1_lol: I'm pretty sure it will remedy itself with time and experience but I'd like help if there is any advice out there.

If you find an answer let me know. Mine is reasonably controlled the first day. My problem is the second day. She goes bonkers. She is almost 7 now so maturity is not an excuse. She went out last weekend and smacked the Sat. Master test. Went out Sunday and broke on the 2nd bird of the land triple. She was NUTS!!!
