That Delta thread got me thinking. What call do you guys prefer to blow on to get them duck in the dekes?! I'm looking to upgrade so:
Single reed, double reed, acrylic, expensive, cheep, what brand..etc? Please help:cool:

I've got a H.S bill Collector, that sound pretty good for the 20$ it cost, I'm eventually going to pick up a Zinks PH2, which is new this year, saw it on the latest 24/7 Video, and I was impressed!
Goose I use a Quackhead Goozilla (Great for the $), a Straight Meat (Plastic not Acrylic), and a GK Giant Slayer...
The Bill Saunders traffic call is unreal, and once I have some cash I'm going to put some serious thought into an expensive acrylic, but right now I've got too many things to buy!

I've been researching a new one as well.. Would love acrylic but I cant hurt my VISA anymore, its had too much abuse latley!! Im leaning towards the Sean Mann calls, there are some nice ones on his website. Eastern Shoreman I believe is the name of the call.

yellow lab speaks the truth,be where the birds want to go and you will slay them.
yet we all want to sound good when we're calling[for our own confidence if not fer the ducks]
i loved my olts over the years but alas my last one went for a chit and i couldn't find another.blew a buck gardner for some years that came with my delta membership[free:bf_new: ].and i could blow it just fine
then i spotted this illinios river call, looked like an olt and blew like an olt.was told the guy who made them worked for olt
not that expensive, great at the high and low end
now remember everone blows a model of call different so just because buddy sounds great on a certain call don't mean yer going to.i won this one high price call in a contest once and just don't like the way i sound on it

RNT Original, GK GiantSlayer and Foiles Honker
I'd agree on the location, BUT when you've got competion from other hunters or lots of options for the birds. ie big water, Hullet, Long Point, Educated birds, calling or not calling too much:rolleyes: can make all the difference.
I use a Primos "Wench" and have had very good luck with it. Tough as nails and the price was certainly right. I had real good luck with the Buck Gardiner one I got with my Delta Waterfowl membership, but lost it at a hunt test. I too would love a "big" acrylic but just can't swallow the "big" price tag. Can get 5-6 "Wenches" (calls that is) for that price. Agree with learning to blow them as best you can makes more of a difference. Good luck.

I use the QuakerBoy Quackmaster with great success. If you want to step up and spend a bit more with out breaking the bank you can get a RNT wood call for around 65 at BP. You may also want to look at the Quackhead line as well. Good sounding calls for a great price.
